Pretty much under the laws of all states in this country, the marital assets of a husband and wife are subject to "grabs" by a creditor for all amounts that one spouse's health insurance does not cover.
Techinically a husband is not responsible to pay the separate obligation of his spouse, but the marital assets of the two would be subject to any claims for payment by the health care provider of one spouse.
