What to do if I was assaulted by a co-worker while I was 5 months pregnant but was suspended over the incident?

My job suspended both until further investigation is what they said. However they neverstopped answering my phone calls and stop replying to my text. I filed for unemployment in the mean while, it’s still pending. It’s been 2 months and I haven’t heard anything about this matter. Do I have a case against either the job or the woman that assaulted me?

There is no law against being suspended if you were the victim of an assault. Unless you have a written employment contract, you are an employee at will, and an employee at will may be suspended (or terminated) at any time, for any reason--including being involved, in any capacity in an assault.

You could sue the person assaulting you. You could recover any medical costs or for significant injuries you suffered, and may be able to recover for some lost wages--it would be worthwhile speaking with a personal injury attorney to see what recourse you may have.
