My provider has stopped paying for 1 of my medications without written notice. Is this illegal?

It would only be illegal if the terms of your health insurance policy required notice before they did this, or if under the terms of the policy, they have to keep paying for this medication (i.e. have no valid grounds to discontinue paying). You have to check the terms of your policy to see what they are required to do, to see if they violated those obligations.
