As in I have narcolepsy and I told him
that I had it before I started working
then it happened and he fired me

If you fell asleep at work, you could be legally fired for that. You can't be fired for *having* narcolepsy, but you can be fired for what *happens* at work--e.g. sleeping on the job. It is the same as with an alcoholic or drug addict: they can't be fired for having an addiction, but if they use at work, or are impaired at work, they can be terminated. The behavior or action, not the existence of the condition, supports legal termination.
