I am so sorry foy your loss. It really depends on how the property was held on the deed and if the deed contained the words "with rights of survivorship." Those words mean that the property passes automatically at the time of death of one of the owners to the other owner. If it did not contain those words then the other half would pass in to your Mother's estate. Good luck.
