Employment in California is at-will with very minimal exceptions. Once this person is fired, there are no privacy issues with respect to the firing unless discussions are made concerning something private about the person wherein a person would have a reasonable expectation of privacy.
If you feel someone had his or her expectation of privacy compromised, try the following:
1. Inquiry to California Dept of Labor; and
2. Inquiry to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
3. www.attorneypages.com for a California employment law attorney and then check his or her disciplinary record at www.calbar.ca.gov under attorney search.
