If you are evicted for confronting the landlord about entering your apartment without consent, you can assert the defense of retaliatory eviction. Retaliatory eviction means you are being evicted for something that is NOT a breach of the lease.
An alternative to asserting the defense of retaliatory eviction is to sue the landlord for retaliatory eviction.
Many states have notice requirements which require a landlord to provide written notice prior to entering a tenant's apartment unless it is an emergency.
