Am I entitled to extra unemployment insuranceif my employer didn’t report a quarter of wages?
My employer didn’t post a quarter of my wages to the Department of Labor and I lost 8 weeks of unemployment. When I started getting my unemployment it showed 3 quarters posted and 18 weeks of eligibility. However, it started as temporary or partial unemployment and as far as I thought, the 18 weeks was for the partial they were submitting each week. I didn’t report to the DOL at this time and didn’t realize that I could get a maximun of 26 weeks. They also owe me over $2000 in wages from last year that I didn’t receive and was going to file a small claims against them anyway.

Generally speaking, unemployment works the same in each state and should work like this: wages are calculated from calendar year to calendar year. So if your missing wages were part of the calendar year that unemployment used to calculate your unemployment benefit amount then you have an issue here to dispute. Now, adding the two thousand dollars does not extend the amount of time that you would receive unemployment benefits (from 18 to 26 weeks). All it would do is possibly increase the benefit amount. I say possibly because I do not know if you were at the max amount anyway. Seek help here. Start wuth the unemployment office and then move to an attorney if need be. Good luck.
