If you have collision coverage on your car, you can contact your insurance company and have them pay to repair your car, less the deductible on the policy. After settlement, your insurance company will attempt to contact the other party and subrogate for the damages. If they are successful, they will reimburse your deductible. If you do not have collision insurance your situation gets more complicated. You can talk to the police and advise that even though the incident was on private property, it was a hit and run incident. Tell them they should contact the other party based on that information. If they still refuse, you can talk to the school to see if they have any recourse for you. If not, you can take the other party to small claims court. The threat of this may encourage them to accept responsibility and either pay to repair your car or turn it in to their insurance company.
