Apartment was broken into 2 days in a row. I contacted the landlord and was told it would be fixed that day. Now 12 days later the door has still not been fixed even though there have been daily phone calls and visits guaranteeing that it would be. Today I made a visit to the office where they told me there was no way I could have gotten broken into through my back door even though it’s in a police report.

Landlords have to provide a reasonably secure place to live--it's part of what's known as the "implied warranty of habitability." Failing to provide the level of security which a reasonable landlord would provide for a building like yours in the area it is in could be a violation of this warranty, and could potentially result in you having a claim for damages against your landlord (e.g for the value of what was stolen); it can also provide the basis for seeking a court order forcing him to secure your apartment.
